Well I did it. As of midnight tonight, my subscription to DirecTV is canceled. They are sending me postage paid FedEx boxes to return my DVR and HD box. Twice I have called to cancel service and twice they have credited my account, offered free VODs, and free service to retain my business. Today, they offered me another 3 months of service to keep me. But this time it didn’t work. I won’t give in and plan to push on into the Internet TV realm.
So, will Netflix, Hulu, and an over the air antenna fulfill my content needs? Will my 25meg Internet connection supply enough bandwidth to a Wii, WD Media Hub, 2 computers, and a Samsung Blu-Ray player that does over the top TV? What does the antenna deliver? What about Live news and Sports? What will the kids think? What will the Wife say? Will the cat notice?
